In Potemkin Empire, you take on the role of the mayor of a small Russian village. You are trying to impress Empress Catherine by convincing her that you have the most fertile and stable village in the entire Empire. But with her visit imminent, you don't have time to fix up your village, so you'll just make it look very impressive.
You will achieve this by taking interior decoration cards, real or fake, and combining them with the exterior to construct a well-standing, albeit strange, kingdom. You will score points by producing goods in your industrial buildings, revealing your opponents' fake buildings with spies, constructing government and cultural buildings, and trying to convince the Empress that all your buildings are real.
The one with the most points at the end of the game wins!
