The "Greek-Latin Dictionary" by Eustratios D. Tsakalotos, a photocopy reprint of the 1926 edition, is an old but proven philological work, necessary for the study of Latin letters. Methodical, scientifically sound, and useful, it reveals through words the first dialectical confrontation of a foreign people, the Romans, with the Greeks. Together with the corresponding Latin-Greek Dictionary, it leads to the understanding of the relationship between Greek and Roman civilization, because as the publisher of Horace p. Heinze observes: "The Latin dictionary is an invaluable aid to Roman studies, provided we know how to use it correctly. It is enough to grasp the corresponding concepts of ethics, religion, and political life from the corresponding words. These words and concepts are the most precious monuments of the intellectual life of the Romans".
