The Bacscan Hi-Tech Medical professional alcohol tester uses a platinum electrochemical sensor and operates with or without a smartphone connection. It connects to an Android smartphone or Apple iPhone via Bluetooth 4.0 and transmits readings to the ALCOFIND app, where they are displayed alongside a graph, time, date, and location. Without the app, the result is shown on the device via colored LEDs, while measurement data is stored for automatic transfer to the app when connected to a smartphone.

The app stores data from the last 1,000 measurements and allows you to change the units of measurement, set an alarm threshold, and choose from nine languages. The tester features an airflow sensor, a measurement counter, and alerts for incorrect measurements, battery status, sensor operation, and calibration requirements. It is powered by one 1.5 V AAA alkaline battery.
