This book aims to provide answers to some of the issues related to journalistic discourse. The first part examines the nature and characteristics of journalistic language in general and specifically Greek, with references to its functions, typology, and pathology. The ultimate goal of this section is to construct a theoretical framework for defining journalistic discourse.

The second part addresses certain sociological, pedagogical, linguistic, and political issues, where the relationships and influences of journalistic discourse in certain areas of human activity are examined. Topics related to the function of journalistic discourse in contemporary society are discussed, which offer a perspective useful for both specialists and non-specialists.

Finally, the third part has a purely research-oriented character. It presents studies related to journalistic headlines, the morphological variety of journalistic language, the use of foreign expressions within it, and the tonal systems used in Greek media, from a diachronic perspective. The reader is presented with research data and conclusions useful for understanding the language and style of Greek journalistic discourse.
