The second volume of "Modern Greek Political History" approaches the key socio-political, constitutional, and state transformations and developments after the abolishment of the Wittelsbach dynasty and up to the first dethronement of Constantine Glucksburg, at the peak of the national schism.
This extensive period includes the Second National Assembly in Athens, the election of George I as King of the Hellenes, the Constitution of 1864, the early establishment of parliamentary democracy by Charilaos Trikoupis, the movement of 1909, the recovery following the rise of Eleftherios Venizelos to power, the major political crisis of 1915-17, and the temporary removal from the throne of Constantine XII.
A third volume will follow, covering the most significant historical-political and constitutional events from the revival of the Parliament on May 31, 1915, to the imposition of the dictatorial regime of August 4, 1936, under the blessings of King George II after the abolition of the Unmonarchic Republic by the extreme pro-monarchist elements of the interwar period.
