I have polycystic ovaries and this made it very difficult to track my ovulation and period, especially as I approached 30.
Initially, I wanted to find a way to predict which cycle had normal ovulation and which was anovulatory - because during my anovulatory months I didn’t have the typical period flow, just some discharge - but also to monitor my condition given that "they say" women with PCOS have difficulty conceiving.
After a lot of personal research (since no gynecologist ever suggested this as a monitoring method and all of them recommended contraceptives like candy - something I didn’t want at my age as I was open to the possibility of pregnancy) I bought these tests and started. I also bought the Clearblue kit (with the smiley face result on the screen) to compare in case I couldn’t clearly understand the result from the strips.
Although they recommend using them on days outside your period, I used them continuously for 40+ days, at the same time each day (usually midday) combined with morning temperature measurement.
Although the first month was indeed anovulatory, and I never saw a clear second red line (positive), entering the second month of use, the indications began, the second line became more and more intense and I finally found my fertile days. (Note: if you have PCOS and use an app to track your ovulation, don’t trust it 100%).
I didn’t even complete two months of use... and I got pregnant. I couldn’t believe it.
It’s sad that gynecologists treat PCOS as something "normal" and you hear phrases like "It’s nothing, everything’s fine" and the solution to everything is PILLS. I don’t know if it’s due to insufficient research on the subject, which is equally tragic since 1 in 3 women is on the PCOS spectrum. What I definitely know is that even if your primary goal is pregnancy, starting with ovulation tests is a very effective way to get to know your body better before entering more 'painful', both mentally and financially, procedures.

Έχω πολυκυστικές ωοθήκες και αυτό καθιστούσε πολύ δύσκολη την παρακολούθηση της ωορρηξίας μου και της περιόδου μου, ειδικά όσο πλησίαζα τα 30.
Ήθελα αρχικά να βρω έναν τρόπο να προβλέπω ποιος κύκλος είναι με κανονική ωορρηξία και ποιος είναι ανωορρηκτικός - επειδή στους ανωορρηκτικούς μου μήνες δεν είχα τη τυπική ροή περιόδου παρά μόνο λίγα υγρά - αλλά και να παρακολουθήσω την κατάστασή μου δεδομένου ότι "λένε" πως γυναίκες με ΠΚΩ αντιμετωπίζουν δυσκολία στην σύλληψη.
Ύστερα από πολύ προσωπική έρευνα (καθώς κανένας γυναικολόγος δεν μου το πρότεινε ποτέ σαν τρόπο παρακολούθησης και όλοι προτείναν αντισυλληπτικά σαν καραμέλες - κάτι που στην ηλικία μου δεν ήθελα καθώς ήμουν ανοιχτή και στο ενδεχόμενο εγκυμοσύνης) αγόρασα αυτά τα τεστ και ξεκίνησα. Αγόρασα και το πακετάκι τις Clearblue (με το αποτέλεσμα που δείχνει το χαμογελάκι στην οθόνη) για να κάνω σύγκριση στη περίπτωση που δεν καταλάβαινα ξεκάθαρα το αποτέλεσμα από τις ταινίες.
Παρόλο που προτείνουν να τα κάνεις τις μέρες εκτός της περιόδου, εγώ τα έκανα συνεχόμενα για 40+ μέρες, ίδια ώρα της ημέρας (συνήθως μεσημέρι) σε συνδυασμό με πρωινή θερμομέτρηση.
Παρόλο που ο πρώτος μήνας ήταν όντως ανωορρηκτικός, και δεν είδα ποτέ καθαρή δεύτερη κόκκινη γραμμή (θετικό), μπαίνοντας στον δεύτερο μηνα χρήσης ξεκίνησαν οι ενδείξεις, η δεύτερη γραμμή γινόταν όλο και πιο έντονη και βρήκα επιτέλους τις γόνιμες μέρες μου. (σημείωση: αν έχετε ΠΚΩ και χρησιμοποιείτε κάποιο app για να κάνετε track την ωορρηξία σας, μην το εμπιστεύεστε 100%).
Δεν έκλεισα δύο μήνες χρήσης... και έμεινα έγκυος. Δε το πίστευα.
Είναι λυπηρό το γεγονός ότι οι γυναικολόγοι αντιμετωπίζουν τις ΠΚΩ σαν κάτι "νορμαλ" και ακούς ατάκες τύπου "Δεν είναι τίποτα, όλα καλά" και η λύση για όλα είναι ΧΑΠΙΑ. Δεν ξέρω αν φταίει η ανεπαρκής έρευνα γύρω από το θέμα, κάτι εξίσου τραγικό μιας που 1 στις 3 γυναίκες βρίσκεται στο φάσμα των ΠΚΩ. Αυτό που σίγουρα ξέρω είναι πως ακόμη κι αν ο πρωταρχικός σου στόχος είναι η εγκυμοσύνη, το να ξεκινήσεις με τεστ ωορρηξίας είναι ένας πολύ αποτελεσματικός τρόπος να γνωρίσεις καλύτερα το σώμα σου πρωτού μπεις σε πιο 'επίπονες', τόσο ψυχικά όσο και οικονομικά, διαδικασίες.

Κάναμε προσπάθεια την ημέρα του θετικού τεστ και την επόμενη μόνο. Εγώ είχα κρατηθεί ήδη 3 μέρες (ιδανικά θες 3-5) για πιο καλή συγκέντρωση σπέρματος και έπιασε με την πρώτη. Ούτε η γυναίκα μου δεν το πίστευε!
Απορώ γιατί η γιατρός δε μας πρότεινε να κάνουμε αυτά τα τεστ απο την αρχή και μας είπε πρακτικά ότι δε μπορούμε. Επίσης με την εφαρμογή όπως φαίνεται η προσπάθεια γινόταν μετά το παράθυρο γονιμότητας και το χάναμε. Μακάρι να τα είχα ψάξει νωρίτερα και να μην παίζαμε στην τύχη. Συμβουλή, περιορίστε το νερό 2 ώρες πριν το τεστ και όχι με τα πρωινά.

Απορώ γιατί η γιατρός δε μας πρότεινε να κάνουμε αυτά τα τεστ απο την αρχή και μας είπε πρακτικά ότι δε μπορούμε. Επίσης με την εφαρμογή όπως φαίνεται η προσπάθεια γινόταν μετά το παράθυρο γονιμότητας και το χάναμε. Μακάρι να τα είχα ψάξει νωρίτερα και να μην παίζαμε στην τύχη. Συμβουλή, περιορίστε το νερό 2 ώρες πριν το τεστ και όχι με τα πρωινά.

I have polycystic ovaries and this made it very difficult to track my ovulation and period, especially as I approached 30.
Initially, I wanted to find a way to predict which cycle had normal ovulation and which was anovulatory - because during my anovulatory months I didn’t have the typical period flow, just some discharge - but also to monitor my condition given that "they say" women with PCOS have difficulty conceiving.
After a lot of personal research (since no gynecologist ever suggested this as a monitoring method and all of them recommended contraceptives like candy - something I didn’t want at my age as I was open to the possibility of pregnancy) I bought these tests and started. I also bought the Clearblue kit (with the smiley face result on the screen) to compare in case I couldn’t clearly understand the result from the strips.
Although they recommend using them on days outside your period, I used them continuously for 40+ days, at the same time each day (usually midday) combined with morning temperature measurement.
Although the first month was indeed anovulatory, and I never saw a clear second red line (positive), entering the second month of use, the indications began, the second line became more and more intense and I finally found my fertile days. (Note: if you have PCOS and use an app to track your ovulation, don’t trust it 100%).
I didn’t even complete two months of use... and I got pregnant. I couldn’t believe it.
It’s sad that gynecologists treat PCOS as something "normal" and you hear phrases like "It’s nothing, everything’s fine" and the solution to everything is PILLS. I don’t know if it’s due to insufficient research on the subject, which is equally tragic since 1 in 3 women is on the PCOS spectrum. What I definitely know is that even if your primary goal is pregnancy, starting with ovulation tests is a very effective way to get to know your body better before entering more 'painful', both mentally and financially, procedures.

Ήθελα αρχικά να βρω έναν τρόπο να προβλέπω ποιος κύκλος είναι με κανονική ωορρηξία και ποιος είναι ανωορρηκτικός - επειδή στους ανωορρηκτικούς μου μήνες δεν είχα τη τυπική ροή περιόδου παρά μόνο λίγα υγρά - αλλά και να παρακολουθήσω την κατάστασή μου δεδομένου ότι "λένε" πως γυναίκες με ΠΚΩ αντιμετωπίζουν δυσκολία στην σύλληψη.
Ύστερα από πολύ προσωπική έρευνα (καθώς κανένας γυναικολόγος δεν μου το πρότεινε ποτέ σαν τρόπο παρακολούθησης και όλοι προτείναν αντισυλληπτικά σαν καραμέλες - κάτι που στην ηλικία μου δεν ήθελα καθώς ήμουν ανοιχτή και στο ενδεχόμενο εγκυμοσύνης) αγόρασα αυτά τα τεστ και ξεκίνησα. Παρόλο που προτείνουν να τα κάνεις τις μέρες εκτός της περιόδου, εγώ τα έκανα συνεχόμενα για 40+ μέρες, ίδια ώρα της ημέρας (συνήθως μεσημέρι) σε συνδυασμό με πρωινή θερμομέτρηση.
Παρόλο που ο πρώτος μήνας ήταν όντως ανωορρηκτικός, και δεν είδα ποτέ καθαρή δεύτερη κόκκινη γραμμή (θετικό), μπαίνοντας στον δεύτερο μηνα χρήσης ξεκίνησαν οι ενδείξεις, η δεύτερη γραμμή γινόταν όλο και πιο έντονη και βρήκα επιτέλους τις γόνιμες μέρες μου. (σημείωση: αν έχετε ΠΚΩ και χρησιμοποιείτε κάποιο app για να κάνετε track την ωορρηξία σας, μην το εμπιστεύεστε 100%).

Αρχικά, τα χρησιμοποίησα γιατί λόγω πολυκυστικων δεν μπορούσα να υπολογίσω τις γόνιμες μέρες μου. εμένα δεν με δυσκόλεψε καθόλου το γεγονός ότι έβγαινε συνεχώς η γραμμή του αποτελέσματος αχνή. οι οδηγίες είναι ξεκάθαρες για να είναι θετικό πρέπει να είναι ίδιας η μεγαλύτερης έντασης από του correct. αυτό ήταν μόνο που με δυσκόλεψε! δύο μέρες πριν την ωορρηξία είχε μεγάλη ένταση αλλά όχι ίδια με το correct. εγώ το έβλεπα ίδιο. εκεί με βοήθησε ο άντρας μου και το chatgpt, όταν ήταν όντως θετικό μου το είπαν εκείνοι γιατί τα δικά μου μάτια.... και από τον έναν και μοναδικό κύκλο χρήσης τους, έμεινα έγκυος και μάλιστα με μια σάλπιγγα μόνο διαβατη. τα λάτρεψα! βέβαια, δυστυχώς η κύηση κατέληξε σε παλυνδρομη, όμως όταν νιώσω πάλι έτοιμη εννοείται πως θα τα εμπιστευτώ ξανά και τα συστήνω σε όσες έχουν ανάλογο πρόβλημα. δεν υπάρχει λόγος να πάρετε πιο ακριβά, τζάμπα λεφτά.

Πήρα τη συσκευασία των 30 για να έχουμε να δοκιμάζουμε και μας περίσσεψαν 20+! Περίσσεψε μαζί και το δεύτερο τεστ εγκυμοσύνης που πήρα!
Ενώ το πρώτο παιδί το πιάσαμε αμέσως, το δεύτερο 2 χρόνια τώρα δεν ερχόταν. Μάλλον η εφαρμογή της μας έλεγε λάθος μέρα ως γόνιμη, πιθανόν λόγω κυστών και ανωμαλιών του κύκλου της.
Άρχισε βουτώντας τα τεστ σε ουροσυλλέκτη την 5η μέρα μετά το τέλος της περιόδου και από αχνή γραμμή, 3 μέρες πριν τη μέρα που έλεγε η εφαρμογή έδειξε σχεδόν θετικό, πριν αρχίσει να ατονεί ξανά την αμέσως επόμενη μέρα. Κάναμε προσπάθεια την ημέρα του θετικού τεστ και την επόμενη μόνο. Εγώ είχα κρατηθεί ήδη 3 μέρες (ιδανικά θες 3-5) για πιο καλή συγκέντρωση σπέρματος και έπιασε με την πρώτη. Ούτε η γυναίκα μου δεν το πίστευε!
Απορώ γιατί η γιατρός δε μας πρότεινε να κάνουμε αυτά τα τεστ απο την αρχή και μας είπε πρακτικά ότι δε μπορούμε. Επίσης με την εφαρμογή όπως φαίνεται η προσπάθεια γινόταν μετά το παράθυρο γονιμότητας και το χάναμε. Μακάρι να τα είχα ψάξει νωρίτερα και να μην παίζαμε στην τύχη. Συμβουλή, περιορίστε το νερό 2 ώρες πριν το τεστ και όχι με τα πρωινά.

Οσο και να το προσπάθησα. Όλες τις μέρες και ώρες της ημέρας…. Δεν κατάφερα ποτέ να βρω την «χρυσή ώρα» που δείχνει την ωορρηξία. Περισσότερο άγχος προκαλεί.

Βασικά αν έχεις ΣΠΩ βγαίνουν όλη την ώρα «σχεδόν» θετικά. Για όσες έχουν νορμαλ κύκλους σίγουρα είναι βοηθητικό. Για εμάς που οι ορμόνες παρταρουν, καίμε και τα τεστ.
