I consider this particular machine an excellent -one at a time task- server. The capabilities it offers are numerous and will satisfy all home users who need a simple NAS with powerful features. Personally, I use it for backing up important files for the whole family, as well as remote access to them, which can be easily achieved with a quality internet upload connection. One usage example that I love is when you talk to someone about something old, for example, how great Easter was in 2016, and with just 3 taps on your mobile, you can watch videos from that time. The software that comes with the machine is satisfactory, with its only issue being its design, which makes it complex until you understand how the "applications" of Synology work. However, its capabilities are numerous, as long as there is no simultaneous use by other individuals. It can even record from cameras as if it were a DVR. Theoretically, it can also do web hosting and many other things, but at a basic level. Don't forget the price you pay. In my opinion, everyone should have their important files backed up, and this particular machine is a very good way to provide security, flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and independence from cloud backups. Combine it with hard drives designed for NAS.

This specific Nas is an entry level NAS. This means that it has a fairly weak processor and very little RAM for more functions such as (multiple users simultaneously running Synology applications such as Moments - Drive - Video Station, etc). It is not suitable for more than 2 users simultaneously because it overwhelms the processor and the RAM is not sufficient. So if you want it for more users, go for the DS220+ which has a much better processor and RAM. As for its operation with one user, it is flawless! I am the only one in my family who handles it and the system runs smoothly, everything responds quickly, it has many functions, and you can do MANY things as long as you have the knowledge! I have it as a Drive and have created 2 users, one for myself and one for the rest of the family. I have set it to constantly sync with my computer. Any files I have on my computer go to the NAS, so I don't need a large disk on my computer. I have also connected it to all my Xiaomi Cameras so that all the footage goes there! Additionally, I have also connected my mobile phone to the Moments application so that all the photos and videos from my phone are stored inside! These are roughly the functions I perform. With these functions, the NAS performs flawlessly, it does not use much CPU, and the RAM is on average at 40-50%.

It is an excellent Entry Level NAS and for the first time I bought a Home NAS, I was very satisfied with its functions, its operating system, and its capabilities!
For those who want to do the basics and not crazy things like Plex 4K, hosting websites, having users, and many other things that NAS can do, it is a very good NAS!
I recommend using HDD Ironwolf or Ironwolf Pro (NAS) disks, don't go elsewhere, it is BY FAR the best solution! As for SSD, I haven't looked into it because I don't have such a fast LAN speed that it is worth going for a faster disk.
