The one downside is that while it is in operation, if you lift it off its base, the indicator light does not turn off and it continues to boil if you put it back on the base. And secondly, after a year of use, it started leaking water from the side of the thermometer. I expect a replacement from the store where I bought it. I believe it may be due to a faulty batch.
