I had a steam iron that was in terrible condition underneath. I had tried various techniques over time (e.g. using aluminum foil) and they had indeed extended its lifespan quite a bit. Unfortunately, they no longer worked, so I tried this specific stick and it worked perfectly.
Basically, you rub it on the hot plate (unplugged) and it dissolves everything. However, be careful of the fumes. You must do it in a well-ventilated area and wear a mask, otherwise you will inhale all the chemicals.
Είχα ενα σίδερο ατμού που είχε γίνει χάλια απο κάτω. Είχα δοκιμάσει κατα καιρούς διάφορες τεχνικές (πχ με το αλουμινόχαρτο) και είχαν οντως παρατείνει τη διάρκεια ζωής του αρκετά. Δυστυχώς ομως δεν απέδιδαν άλλο οπότε δοκίμασα το συγκεκριμένο στικ και δούλεψε άψογα.
Ουσιαστικά το τρίβεις πανω στη ζεστή πλάκα (εκτός πριζας) κ διαλύει τα πάντα. Προσοχή όμως στις αναθυμιάσεις. Πρέπει να το κάνετε σε ανοιχτό χώρο και με μάσκα γιατί αλλιώς θα εισπνεύσετε όλα τα χημικά.
It does an amazing job! I had tried many homemade remedies to clean the iron but nothing worked until I tried this specific product. My advice is to clean the iron outdoors (the instructions say in a well-ventilated area) due to the fumes, and to place 2-3 pieces of kitchen paper underneath the iron because it drips. Hold the iron so that the plate is perpendicular to the floor and simply rub the iron with the stick while it is at wool temperature. It was cleaned in 10 minutes.
