This book has two main purposes: to investigate the key points of the Montessori method and to serve as a starting point for scientific reflection on the implementation of other preschool education programs in Greece.

Maria Montessori is the educator whose name is closely associated with preschool education as she dedicated many years to it, possessing expertise, talent, and passion. She recognized that learning depends on the child's interaction with the environment.

More than any other contemporary educator, she emphasized the need to connect theory with practice, even providing descriptions of how children learn and the teaching methods that should be used.

The Montessori method, with its strong social and humanitarian philosophy, takes on new significance today, where the deadlocks of many traditional processes and the flood of political and economic upheavals pose problems of social cohesion and the redefinition of social roles and values.
