Having bought the entire trilogy after first reading the first book, The Hobbit, which I can say is much nicer and superior in terms of quality and generally very easy to read, now I am halfway through The Fellowship of the Ring and it is a wonderful book so far. Of course, I have seen the movies, but the books have so much content that even if you have seen the movie, it is like unlocking an entire world you had no idea existed, with many details about Middle-earth and maps drawn by the author himself. Honestly, the passion Tolkien had for this world is incredible. It is a bit more difficult to read compared to The Hobbit, but it is just as interesting and makes you want to know what happens next every time you put it down and pick it up again. I will give it 4 stars only for the quality of the book—at least externally, I would have liked it to be similar to The Hobbit book. Now, internally, something that is repeated quite a few times I forgive in such a big story—they could have done better, of course, but still, it is very good work.

1) publishing quality the same as that of a book distributed for free with a Sunday newspaper
2) the translation needs quite a bit of improvement..! There are expressive errors, words are repeated, sentences stop abruptly, etc.

It's a shame to want to read the book and come across expressive mistakes by the translator that show a carelessness in the whole work. If you can find it in other editions, then I recommend buying it.

Η μετάφραση αυτής της έκδοσης θέλει πολλή δουλειά γιατί αδικεί σε μεγάλο βαθμό τον συγγραφέα. Είναι κρίμα να θέλεις να διαβάσεις το βιβλίο και να πέφτεις σε εκφραστικά λάθη του μεταφραστή που δείχνουν μια προχειρότητα στην όλη δουλειά. Αν μπορείτε να το βρείτε από άλλες εκδόσεις τότε συνιστώ να το αγοράσετε.

Having bought the entire trilogy after first reading the first book, The Hobbit, which I can say is much nicer and superior in terms of quality and generally very easy to read, now I am halfway through The Fellowship of the Ring and it is a wonderful book so far. Of course, I have seen the movies, but the books have so much content that even if you have seen the movie, it is like unlocking an entire world you had no idea existed, with many details about Middle-earth and maps drawn by the author himself. Honestly, the passion Tolkien had for this world is incredible. It is a bit more difficult to read compared to The Hobbit, but it is just as interesting and makes you want to know what happens next every time you put it down and pick it up again. I will give it 4 stars only for the quality of the book—at least externally, I would have liked it to be similar to The Hobbit book. Now, internally, something that is repeated quite a few times I forgive in such a big story—they could have done better, of course, but still, it is very good work.
έχοντας πάρει ολόκληρη την τριλογια αφού διάβασα πρώτα το πρώτο βιβλίο Χομπιτ, το οποίο μπορω να πω πως ειναι ειναι πολυ ποιο ωραιο και ανωτέρω βιβλίοαπο θεμα ποιότητας και γενικα ειναι πολυ ευκολο στο να το διαβάσεις, τωρα ειμαι στα μισά της συντροφιά του δαχτυλιδιού ειναι υπέροχο βιβλίο μεχρι στιγμής, εχω δει φυσικά της ταινίες τα βιβλία εχουν πολυ περιεχόμενο σε φαση που και να εχεις δει την ταινία ειναι σαν να ξεκλειδώνεις έναν ολόκληρο κόσμο που δεν είχες ιδέα οτι υπήρχε, με πολλές λεπτομέρειες για την μεση-γη και χάρτες που ζωγράφισε ο ίδιος ο συγγραφέας. Ειλικρινά τι μεράκι ειχε ο τολκιν για αυτόν τον κόσμο ειναι απίστευτο, ειναι λιγο ποιο δύσκολο να το διαβάσεις σε σχεση με το χομπιτ αλλα δεν παύει να ειναι το ιδιο ενδιαφέρον και να θελεις να μάθεις την συνέχεια κάθε φορα που το αφήνεις και το ξανά ξεκινάς . θα βάλω 4 αστέρια μόνο και μόνο για την ποιότητα του βιβλίου τουλάχιστον εξωτερικά θα το ήθελα να ηταν παρόμοιο με το βιβλιο χομπιτ. Τωρα εσωτερικα κατι που επαναλαμβάνεται αρκετές φορές το συγχωρώ σε μια τόσο μεγάλη ιστορία θα μπορούσαν καλύτερα φυσικά αλλά και παλι ειναι πολυ καλή δουλειά.
Such a nice novel is a shame to have:
1) publishing quality the same as that of a book distributed for free with a Sunday newspaper
2) the translation needs quite a bit of improvement..! There are expressive errors, words are repeated, sentences stop abruptly, etc.
Ένα τόσο ωραίο μυθιστόρημα είναι κρίμα να έχει:
1)ποιότητα έκδοσης ίδια με αυτή βιβλίου που διανέμεται δωρεάν μαζί με μια Κυριακάτικη εφημερίδα
2) η μετάφραση χρειάζεται αρκετή βελτίωση..! Υπάρχουν εκφραστικά λάθη, λέξεις επαναλάμβανονται, προτάσεις σταματούν απότομα κ.α.
Apart from the font size, the book is very good. You might get tired at some point, but it's worth reading
Πέρα από το μέγεθος των γραμμάτων ,το βιβλίο είναι πολύ καλό. Ίσως σε κάποιο σημείο να κουραστείς αλλά αξίζει να το διαβάσεις
The story is very beautiful and the way things are narrated makes you want to see what happens next. The translation of this edition requires a lot of work because it greatly undermines the author. It's a shame to want to read the book and come across expressive mistakes by the translator that show a carelessness in the whole work. If you can find it in other editions, then I recommend buying it.
Είναι πολύ όμορφη η ιστορία και ο τρόπος που εξιστορούνται τα πράγματα σε κάνουν να θέλεις να δεις τι γίνεται παρακάτω. Η μετάφραση αυτής της έκδοσης θέλει πολλή δουλειά γιατί αδικεί σε μεγάλο βαθμό τον συγγραφέα. Είναι κρίμα να θέλεις να διαβάσεις το βιβλίο και να πέφτεις σε εκφραστικά λάθη του μεταφραστή που δείχνουν μια προχειρότητα στην όλη δουλειά. Αν μπορείτε να το βρείτε από άλλες εκδόσεις τότε συνιστώ να το αγοράσετε.
Very good book, excellent adventure and continuation of the story!
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the specific edition series which I personally find offensive to the series and awful, from the cover to the fact that they are not even bound! It's as if they are supermarket editions. It's a shame because Tolkien's books in English are mostly in excellent editions.

Ο μόνος λόγος που έβαλα 4 και όχι 5, είναι η συγκεκριμένη σειρά της έκδοσης που πρωσοπικα την βρίσκω προσβολή προς την σειρά και άθλια, από το εξώφυλλο μέχρι το γεγονός ότι δεν βγαίνουν καν σε δεμένα! Λες και είναι εκδόσεις από σούπερ μάρκετ. Κρίμα γιατί τα βιβλία του Tolkien στα αγγλικά ως επί το πλείστων είναι σε εξαιρετικές εκδόσεις..
