Insole splint "FLEX STEP" made of high-quality polypropylene. Ergonomic and innovative design. Clinical studies have shown that the splint fully stabilizes the ankle. It features a Dial lock mechanism for detailed adjustment and controlled compression on the calf. The internal foam lining acts as a protective layer from pressure applied to the front side and height of the calf. It can also be used as a night splint when the patient is in a supine position.

Insole splint indications:

• Peroneal nerve palsy
• Flaccid foot drop
• Walking stabilization with foot support
• In hemiplegic patients

Foot drop:

Foot drop is defined as damage to a peripheral nerve, resulting in an inability to move the foot upwards.

Caused by:

• Spinal cord pressure
• Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
• Multiple sclerosis
• Parkinson's disease (rarely)

Symptoms:

• Inability of the foot to turn towards the body
• Pain
• Muscle weakness
• Loss of sensation on the upper surface of the foot
• Loss of foot functionality characterized by a distinctive high-stepping gait

Treatment:

Depending on the severity of the paralysis, one of the following treatments may be followed:

• Non-surgical treatment with special splints and braces tailored to each patient
• Surgical treatment, the type of which depends on the cause of the damage
