Hedda Gabler, a victim of her high expectations, is unable to find her rightful place in life. Her suppressed urges and her disgust for the everyday surroundings fill her with a cold arrogance.
And when Eilert Løvborg appears once again on her lonely path, she is seized by a fierce desire to dominate him and his primal, superior nature. She decides, without a trace of mercy, to detach him from Thea, who, in her opinion, is an insignificant woman.
Hedda Gabler, having crossed the boundaries of evil, seeks for herself a beautiful ending—a death justified by beauty—that she can only expect from herself.
