Very good product, reliable about 90% of what it should be for newborns as well as adults. Today, as I am writing this, our whole family of 4 is sick and I tested it on everyone and compared it to both a mercury thermometer and a digital thermometer. The deviation is minimal, with all 3 thermometers showing a difference of up to 0.2 units lower. However, it is a good tool to easily check and react without disturbing the baby or waking up others while they are sleeping if you suspect something might be wrong. You just need to know how to handle it, otherwise it might show inaccurate readings like many others have experienced. First, you need to touch the thermometer on the right or left side of the temple where the eyebrow ends, not from a distance, as it might confuse room temperature. That's why it should be done close and always in a closed space. Also, according to the instructions, you need to repeat 2-3 consecutive measurements to accurately read the temperature, which takes about 5 seconds in total. The correct reading is usually the third one. Now, if someone plays around and tests it multiple times like I did, pressing it many times after the third measurement, it starts showing different temperatures. So, it's a thermometer and not a toy. If you use it as intended, you won't have any problems. It also has a button to select the mode for room temperature, adult, or baby, as it has different settings stored for these categories, including sensitivity. Additionally, the higher the fever, the smaller the deviation. For example, when you don't have a fever, it might show up to 36.9 even if it's below 37.2, but when you have a fever of 37.6 and above, which is considered a fever, you will see that the screen turns red from green in the photo I uploaded, and it beeps, indicating that it doesn't lose even 0.1 and is 100% accurate compared to a classic mercury thermometer. So, when you really need a thermometer, it won't show you wrong readings. In contrast, the one we have at work, which we use every morning due to COVID-19, almost always shows 35.4, 35.5, 35.6. Now, as for the ear thermometer, it doesn't perform as well. It has a deviation of 0.5-0.6, whether you have a fever or not. I hope I helped those who are interested in getting it, as well as those who already have it and are complaining.

Good construction but completely unreliable. The whole family suddenly has hypothermia... it loses 0.6 C and maybe more. From the same distance of 1-3cm, with 5 consecutive measurements, you get a completely different value each time. It will be returned immediately..

I had completely abandoned it considering it completely unreliable in its measurements until I started trying the measurement in the ear. There it really doesn't lose much, it almost always gives you the same result with small deviations and you can understand if you have a fever or not, even as a quick solution for a baby before you force them to hold a regular thermometer under their armpit.

Try it only in the ear, in all other points it is unreliable.

It is the second thermometer I have purchased, the first one broke due to our own misuse. It has good accuracy with measurements from the ear, but it is completely off when measuring from the forehead. It may show 38.5 in the ear and 37 on the forehead, but you know that it is actually what it says in the ear. No matter how many times I measure, it will show the same result.

In the beginning of use and compared to a mercury thermometer, it seemed to be working well (up to 0.3 deviation). When my child had a fever and seemed to be getting hot, it showed 37.6 on the forehead and 38.1 on the neck, while the mercury thermometer showed 39.2 (!!). I can't say it has great accuracy.. You can't rely on it. Our little one doesn't sit still with a regular thermometer, so it's a solution for a simple reference value and not to be taken into consideration 100%. Unfortunately, reading the comments, I expected slightly better results, but I have the impression that no digital thermometer is 100% reliable, they all have variances of 0.3 and above.

I have checked it with a mercury thermometer as well as with a home thermometer and it is very close. The only problem is that in the dark, the screen illuminates too brightly for the eyes, so you can't easily see the point on the child's forehead. I need to put my hand and cover the screen a little so that I have a proper view.

I have had it for about two months and we had many illnesses in the house by chance, I only take the ear temperature. I am very satisfied, as a thermometer for children and for measuring from the ear it is very good, it has good construction and is fast but unfortunately it loses accuracy when measuring from the forehead.

Honestly, I can't understand how someone can give it 5 stars. Unless they take a measurement and then abandon it. Every time it shows a different measurement. It depends on how close you put it on the forehead. One time it's 37.5, then 38, then 38.7. Pay attention here, it showed 39.2 when it was actually 38.2. Generally, huge deviations from the mercury. No reliability.

I compared it to the electronic armpit thermometer and its old mercury one and it had a deviation of about 0.2. It also has the option of measuring the temperature of objects (I use it for milk). It is not as reliable as the mercury one for sure, because many times it gives 2-3 different temperatures, but for a quick estimation, yes, it is very good.

Good accuracy in measurements (all thermometers are likely to "lose"), so no one can criticize it for any exclusions.

Very easy to use and incredibly fast (1'') for temperature measurement.
A thousand times preferable to a mercury or electronic thermometer that takes 1-5 minutes

Find a way to measure accurately. One shows 37.5, one 38.1, one 38.8. Figure out which one is correct

  • No accuracy in the measurements. Large deviation. Zero repeatability. As for the forehead measurements, reliability is out of the question...

  • I had completely abandoned it considering it completely unreliable in its measurements until I started trying the measurement in the ear. There it really doesn't lose much, it almost always gives you the same result with small deviations and you can understand if you have a fever or not, even as a quick solution for a baby before you force them to hold a regular thermometer under their armpit.

Try it only in the ear, in all other points it is unreliable.

  • Terrible!!! In every measurement, it shows something different with a significant deviation. Additionally, there is a huge deviation in the forehead/ear measurement.

  • It is the second thermometer I have purchased, the first one broke due to our own misuse. It has good accuracy with measurements from the ear, but it is completely off when measuring from the forehead. It may show 38.5 in the ear and 37 on the forehead, but you know that it is actually what it says in the ear. No matter how many times I measure, it will show the same result.

  • In the beginning of use and compared to a mercury thermometer, it seemed to be working well (up to 0.3 deviation). When my child had a fever and seemed to be getting hot, it showed 37.6 on the forehead and 38.1 on the neck, while the mercury thermometer showed 39.2 (!!). Needless to say, it turned out to be rubbish because with such a deviation, it is not just unreliable but also potentially dangerous!!
