Owner of the digital thermometer for several years, I had the impression that it does not have the accuracy it had in the beginning. Indeed, analog armpit thermometers show a significantly lower temperature, about 0.8 units lower for me.
What I noticed and may be the reason for the difference in measurements is that if you hold it further away from the forehead, it comes very close to the measurement of the analog thermometer.

Finally, reading the instructions again, it says for a distance of 5 centimeters from the forehead. If you follow it, although it is not very easy in the air, it is indeed very close to the analog thermometer.
So, it works according to its specifications, regardless of the fact that it is not easy to follow these instructions.

The paradox is that it constantly gives me a higher temperature on the forehead than I get in the armpit with the armpit thermometer. Additionally, in order to give a "correct ???" measurement, it is not enough to just aim at the forehead, but it needs to be scanned from the center of the forehead to the temple area within 3 seconds of the measurement. Obviously, the baby perceives this and turns their head to see it, so it cannot be used correctly again. Finally, it does not automatically return to the measuring process within 5 seconds as it claims, but you have to turn it off and on again every time. Unless mine is defective... I don't know... I no longer rely on it and have returned to the digital armpit thermometer.
