Description

The presentation of these letters from the poets regarding the establishment of Pali dramatically highlights the schism in our modernist poetry especially but also in prose, when the magazine's collaborators took a more avant-garde line of questioning, theoretically and in practice - of the great Greek modernism - with the collaboration of the most extreme and radical writers-poets.

The atmosphere of confrontation with the conservative modernism of the academic heirs develops through the consultations for the magazine's publication that preceded it and the author's attempts to bring together the Seferian and the surrealists - but in vain.

Ultimately, with the support of a group of young people, the now legendary Pali was published, which lasted from 1963 to 1967 and ceased with the dictatorship. Among them were Papatsounis, Seferis, Empirikos, Elytis, Eggonopoulos, Chatsos, Tahtsis, Kalas, all of whom played an important role.
