The re-examination of the theatrical and dramatic themes of Palamas, beyond the "Trisavgeni" and its adventurous reception, has brought to light a plethora of elements regarding the theatrical and dramatic interests of the poet.
Palamas waged an entire struggle for the establishment of quality and poetic drama on the stage of his time and engaged in his essayistic critiques with numerous Greek and European dramatists.
These elements significantly alter the image of the poet isolated in his "cell," who, after the disappointment of the failure of "Trisavgeni" and the one-sided and shortsighted criticism he received, withdraws from theatrical matters and no longer engages, once and for all, with the stage and dramatography.
