Description

Description

In January 2009, Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 44th president of the United States. He is the first black person to be elected to the highest office of the superpower that abolished slavery just a century and a half earlier.

The book chronicles the social, economic, cultural, and political journey, from the slave trade and the actions of the Ku Klux Klan, Martin Luther King, and the violent uprisings of black Americans, to Muhammad Ali and the "Black Power" Olympics, as well as Toni Morrison’s Nobel Prize and Malcolm X.

At the same time, it recognizes cultural diversities and highlights their exploitation by a system that does not ensure equality for their creators.

The current situation, the new role of the Ku Klux Klan, the neo-Nazi movement, and the contemporary dynamics of African Americans are also analyzed.

How coincidental is Obama's election at this particular moment in time? What conclusions or predictions are we led to when studying the historical overview of African Americans in the United States?
