Description

The questioning or even the denial of the acceptance of the will of the majority, within the framework of bourgeois democracy, which is assumed in this essay, may seem provocative.

And it is indeed provocative because it dismantles one of the key principles of this pseudo-democracy and reveals its spurious character, as this is highlighted both by its critics and the hollow arguments of its defenders.

More specifically, it is about substantiating the position that capitalism, that is, the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, and in the form of bourgeois representative democracy, besides other calamities, shapes unfree individuals.

At the same time, with the granting of universal electoral rights, it appears to treat unequal human beings as equal citizens in their actual existence.

This means that, on one hand, it allows people to express themselves "freely after previously having removed their right to think freely," while, on the other hand, it attempts to mask social inequalities behind the guise of equal political rights.

This critical approach does not, in any case, constitute a denial of the utilization of political rights and bourgeois parliamentarism for the overthrow of capitalism, which is a prerequisite for the substantial realization of democracy.
