  • I would read a book by the same author

  • It was not interesting
  • It is easy to read and presents the story through the 4 perspectives of the protagonists. It is decent, just something to pass the time, not something amazing or captivating. I wasn't impressed.

  • It does not deviate from the beaten path and the dramatic element that the author highlights each time is not necessarily a bad thing. After all, the ending leaves you with a sense of satisfaction. Quite interesting.

Description & Specifications

There is white. There is black. And in between them, there is turquoise. The ring that Stefanos chose to give to all three sisters. To the prickly Erato, to the dynamic Clelia, to the delicate Mayra, his girls.

Stefanos had his way with women. He made them feel beautiful, feel unique. He married one. He fell in love with another. He raped the third.

Turquoise, a bright color that symbolizes truth and purity. Turquoise, a dark color that dives into the truths of the soul. Because life always has two sides. Because every story hides many facets and deep heartaches.

After all, isn't happiness made from the intoxication of love?

Read an excerpt

Our life is like a kaleidoscope full of images, and their color seems to hold our emotions hostage, even influencing our actions. How colors affect human psychology – an effect that often stems from personal experiences and is accompanied by strong emotional burdens – remains an unanswered question. I let myself be carried away by the colors in this novel. And the emotions. I dived into a turquoise sea, struggling to uncover parent-child relationships. The secrets and lies, the emotional deficiencies, the very truth hidden behind the closed doors of the homes where my characters grew up: Klelia, Erato, Maira, Stefanos. When we knead dough, to make it rise, fluffy and crispy, we follow certain rules for the flour, butter, oil, whatever we add.

And the child is an unshaped dough in our hands, an innocent angel. What rules do we follow so as not to break their heart, not to destroy their future? The relationship between mother and child is magical. The emotional absence of the mother remains indelible in the child's soul and body. The relationship between father and child plays a unique role in their mental health and personality. Some parents are friends with their child. They adopt a guilt-ridden and lenient relationship towards them, never saying "no." They share their adult secrets with the child, confuse their role, seek their advice. The parent must care for and raise the child, exercise control, a task identical to the concept of responsibility.
