We have had an orphaned kitten since the day it was born. It started using the litter box on its own at 4-5 weeks. We researched this pellet and found it to be the most suitable type for baby kittens, as it is plant-based and non-toxic, comes in large pieces so they can't eat it like sand or other types, and most importantly, it is non-clumping. She really likes it, digs perfectly and safely in it, does her business, and we are very satisfied. I haven't noticed any smell other than the slight scent of wood; I immediately and safely dispose of the waste in the toilet bowl.

It's important to note that it needs to be sifted to remove the shavings (I wouldn't call it dust) that are created each time from the urine, using an appropriate litter box or sieve. Otherwise, it's understandable that it could be difficult, time-consuming by hand, or start to smell if left at the bottom.

Of course, not everything is for everyone, and in the future, we will try other types, always with the kitten's well-being in mind.

Update 8 months later: Everything is perfect with the pellet, we also tried the clumping one from the same brand but found it economically unfeasible, so we continue with this one, in a special stainless steel cat litter box with a raised bottom - sieve. Very easy to clean, you can also put a bag at the bottom if that suits you.

HOWEVER, I removed one star because the second package we got had nothing to do with the first one in terms of content! The pellet was broken into small pieces... many of which fall through the holes at the bottom of the litter box, something that never happened with the first package. I hope it was just a one-off, and they haven't changed the composition... In any case, be careful!

Update 1 year later:
The last package we got is made from dark wood, as you can see in the photo compared to the previous pellet. But this time it wasn't broken into small pieces at all.

Update 16 months later:
The large 40Lt package lasts us 4.5+ months for one litter box for one cat, who even urinates frequently since she was little!
The product's economy and hygiene are impressive. Always use a special sieve so only the shavings are thrown away, and ideally a metal box that can be cleaned in a minute every so often without any smell. The small scatter it causes is worth it, only around the (open) litter box—but even that can be solved with a cardboard box taller than the litter box, open on top with an opening at the front door (or a more expensive and aesthetically pleasing solution like a 'litterbox shield/enclosure/splash guard').

I highlight my experience in the following areas to be more specific and detailed:

- Adhesion ability (on solids) is poor. Therefore, the odors are very strong during use and cleaning.
- Bonding ability (for urine) is poor. It creates a very loose ball that disintegrates when you pick it up. You waste time picking up all the pieces, it's generally terrible. The pieces that remain in the litter box will start emitting ammonia after a week. You will have to throw away all the litter.
- Absorbency (for urine) is moderate. Due to the large size of the pellet, absorption is not as fast as it should be.
- Scattering inside the house (tracking) is non-existent. The pellet is so large that it cannot stick to the animal's paws and then scatter. The only area with a positive experience, but that alone is not enough for me to choose it again.

In the end, it is a product that I completely reject. The size of the pellet is too large and it cannot perform its basic function. However, things work differently in different cases and a trial is always useful without a high cost.
