Water-soluble
The POSCA paint is “water-soluble”: it can be diluted to create a gradient effect. This action is performed before drying: use a brush that you have soaked in water beforehand and work the color directly onto the material to achieve the result you want.
Color mixing
As long as the paint is wet, the colors can be mixed on the workspace by blurring with the tip or with a brush to create endless color gradients. If the tip becomes dirty, simply clean it and use the marker again to restore the original color.
Ideal for layering
Thick and opaque, POSCA paint is perfect for layering! Dark colors can be applied over light colors or light over dark. Thanks to the quick drying time, layering can be done without smudging. Before applying the next layer, make sure that the previously applied color has dried completely.
Prepare the Posca marker
Shake the marker vigorously up and down with the cap on. You will hear the ball inside move. This indicates that the paint inside the POSCA marker is mixing.
Test the marker
Press the tip several times on a scrap piece of paper until the tip is filled with color. Test the flow on the scrap paper – if the line is clean, your POSCA is ready. It is handy to have a cloth nearby for easily cleaning the tip or absorbing any excess paint.
Tip cleaning
If necessary, you can clean the tip of the marker with water as often as needed. If you see that the tip has dried, you can even leave it in water overnight.
Tip replacement
If the tip becomes unusable, it can be flipped to the other side for use. Reversible tips: PC-3M and PC-5M. Tip replacements: PC-1MC, PC-3M, PC-5M, PC-7M, PC-8K, PC-17K.
Storage conditions
POSCA markers can be stored in any position, as long as the cap is replaced after use. The ball inside the marker serves to mix the paint, which is perfectly preserved inside the marker.
