Description

The book in hand is the result of a collective effort made by a few comrades, each in different fields, at the suggestion of our Leader Apo. I must clarify that due to the necessity of dealing with numerous other political and practical issues, I have not had the opportunity to engage in book writing until now. However, I had to carry out this mission. Therefore, although with some delay, I have tried to do my best. For this delay, I apologize and express my regret.

The issues and events discussed in the book are topics from the recent period, written with the blood of our brave national martyrs. If one should reference the reasons that led to the writing of this book, these must be entirely sought in the sacrifice of these individuals. For this reason, this book is dedicated first to the national martyrs, the worthy commanders of the rebels Mehmet Karasunghur, Kemal Pir, Agit, to the worthy national martyrs of the period of legitimate defense, Erdals, Silan, Viyan Adil, Nunda, and Akif, as well as to all the other heroic national martyrs of our liberation struggle.

To the extent that I have been able to highlight their glorious struggle through the pages of this book, I have fulfilled my duty towards them. In fact, this work was prepared in 2007 and remained on the shelf for a period. Some interventions were made to the texts afterward, yet the essence of the book prepared in 2007 remained unchanged. The events that followed since then and the subsequent conclusions are not included in the book; I should note that a significant role and contribution in shaping and writing important chapters of the book was played by our worthy commander Adil, who, in the meantime, fell on the battlefield and took a distinguished place in the pantheon of martyrs of our liberation struggle.

It is evident that we have a great debt towards our national martyrs. This work essentially constitutes an account and at the same time an apologetic memorandum to our Leader, the heroic national martyrs, and the generous people of Kurdistan. Another thing that should be emphasized is that this work does not represent the history of the People's Liberation Army of Kurdistan (ARGK), whose documentation is necessary and will be done in the future.

The book attempts to describe the general line and direction of our struggle, and it does not include many significant events and operations of our movement. Any references to operations and events are made more on the basis of evaluating the line followed in our struggle. As the writing of the book progressed, I realized that the most challenging of the missions I had to fulfill was highlighting the heroic epopee that has been ongoing all these years in Kurdistan. In this respect, it is certain that the book in hand does not fully cover this subject.

With the hope that the epic struggles and heroic battles fought by our people in Kurdistan will be highlighted by other works and books, I must confess that I will feel great happiness and relief if with this work we managed to at least partially showcase the magnitude and value of the sacred struggle taking place in Kurdistan. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to comrades Pelin and Sahan and to all the students of Class 'Şehit Servan' of the Education School of the Workers' Party of Kurdistan.
