Description

What will happen to this city then? Having squandered everything it had and didn't have, it now relies on those few who, even if they have lost everything, seem to find it all again.

They may have a few remnants of their strength left for it. It asks them for a desperate act of generosity, and some accept the plea and rise above the filth of interests at once. Just one step and everything changes, because there are still some who hold no grudges against the city, the one that gave them nothing.

Nothing? That is not fair, and they know it; I know it too as I climb one of its heights to see it once more from above. A glance before I descend to the streets of Athens, where so many have suffered from relentless desolation, and where some understood that to live they must give, beggars of love who became givers and were saved.

A experiential journey through the areas of the capital that appear both familiar and foreign during the wanderer's explorations. The author realizes that this city is 'never summarized' and that it is an endless 'work of hands'.

It was built neither by thought nor by machinery, but solely by the hands, the instruments of the struggles of its inhabitants. Walls were raised, and narrow roads were charted with signs reading: 'no'. Thus, desires continuously recede and seek out exits.

What hours then, and in which corners does beauty appear? From which points can one gaze at the horizon and the expanse of the world? The wandering will reveal the hideouts of love and reverie, as well as the cenotaphs of friendship and the places where people die of loneliness.
