If you get a flash drive in 2022, make sure it has (and) USB Type-C. It is fast and discreet compared to an Ultra matchstick that I had. Choose this over its non-metallic brother (the one that is currently most popular as I write).

As for how hot it gets, I want you to consider that essentially, all the other plastic USB sticks we have become equally hot, it's just that the plastic insulates them. A moment of silence for flash drives everywhere.

So here, the metal casing can act as a heatsink to dissipate some of the heat from the chips, and it is also more durable and (subjectively) beautiful. Win!

Although the USB stick of the well-known company seemed to be of very good quality and durable at first glance, it did not last even 5 uses. Whenever I would plug it into my laptop, it would heat up to such an extent that I couldn't even touch it to remove it. I continued using it until I could no longer transfer anything in or out of the USB stick. It wouldn't let me copy-paste and it would delay so much that it would freeze the computer. I do not recommend it.

It starts off well with a write speed of 100+ MB/s (when it's cold, of course), but after a while, it drops noticeably whether it's cold or not. The read speed, however, is just fine.
Support, in a few words, tells you that if it has write cycles, it's normal, even though I had it for 2 months.

I got it to use with my iPad Air 2022. It works fine on both ports, and I've tested it on a computer and on the iPad, as well as on Android with USB-C. Prefer exFAT format for it to work and write everywhere. The speed is disappointing for USB 3.1 (supposedly), it makes a pop at the beginning and you get excited, and then after a few seconds it drops to 5MB/s. It overheats excessively even though it's metal to the point that if you leave it copying for a while, you can't touch it.

I bought it about a week ago and I have to say that it's okay. There are times when the speeds are relatively slow, but it's not a big issue for simple use. Because it's made of metal, it heats up excessively easily, but if you look at it in a positive way, it's just a heatsink that takes two minutes to cool down before you remove it from where you have it. I have put it on my keys and the rotating part has broken, so it doesn't stay in place. Otherwise, it's fine, but I don't recommend it.

I have it here for 6 months and it works flawlessly. Small in size, very high quality, it fits in your keys so you can always have it with you. The data transfer speed is satisfactorily satisfactory as I transferred 12GB files in 3 minutes. Not bad. I think it's worth the few money it costs, and Sandisc is a well-known company, from which I have no complaint, from the products I have been using for years.

This review is about the size: 256 GB

So far it is excellent. I have the 256gb version and I am amazed. The speeds (on a MacBook Air M1 2020) are dazzling. I transferred 25gb files in just 4.45 minutes, it may have gotten quite hot afterwards, resulting in me not being able to hold it, but that is due to its metallic construction, which is like a jewel on the MacBook. At first, it had a little trouble connecting to the type c port, but I believe that is understandable.
If there is any issue with it over time, I will report it on 5/14/22.

Two years later, on 2/20/24, the USB stick still heats up significantly and at some point, the speeds are painfully slow, taking half an hour with three-quarters to transfer 200mb files to the computer. It does not allow me to safely eject it and it makes my computer freeze in the attempt to safely eject it and read its files.
I will see if it can be fixed with reformatting.

It heats up incredibly within a few minutes when I use it with MacBook Air M1. The speeds are definitely not USB 3.1, as the write speeds are around 66 MB/s maximum and the read speeds are 150 MB/s maximum. Other than that, it does its job, it's the best deal in the USB-C sticks category, but it could be much better.

After 10 minutes of file transfer from my MacBook, I literally couldn't touch it because it was burning. At the same time, the metal thing that rotates around and covers one of the two ports gets stuck as you turn it, and it also makes a terrible sound, so the build quality is not very good. Overall, it does the job if you want it for a mobile/iPad, but I wouldn't recommend it for a laptop

From a certain point onwards, it doesn't let you copy - paste. It freezes even the computer. It lags sometimes. / Convenient for mobile. Yes. Until there. Now that it is cheap.. Okay..

    Very good speeds
    Very small
Indeed, it heats up quite a bit and quickly due to the metallic casing which helps of course to dissipate the heat compared to the plastic model.
*to work on mac & android it needs to be formatted in exFat

Sometimes it gets fully charged, usually not. It requires more power than my other USB devices, so it only comes to life in the back ports.

It heats up incredibly, resulting in a significant drop in file transfer speed. I bought it to replace an older one because it was 'slow', but in the end, this one is even slower. I do not recommend it

I would give it 5 stars but the device overheats during recordings to the point where it "burns" ... I hope it doesn't affect and data is not lost!

  • Functional, works with the phone, although sometimes it doesn't "catch" it, probably a software issue, not hardware.

  • It starts off well with a write speed of 100+ MB/s (when it's cold, of course), but after a while, it drops noticeably whether it's cold or not. The read speed, however, is just fine.
Support, in a few words, tells you that if it has write cycles, it's normal, even though I had it for 2 months.

  • It does its job very well.
Quality construction that looks more expensive.
It heats up during file transfers, but I think that's more or less the case with all of them.
    Excellent for its price.
    I highly recommend it.

  • It works perfectly on MacBook Air m3 and m1.
Also on Samsung phone and on iPhone 16 and on a regular computer.
For me, the USB-C side works faster.
It has only one downside. It gets very hot.
