Durostick plumbing red lead is a thick, elastomeric anti-corrosion primer for metal threads. It is used to seal metal pipe joints in combination with hemp packing and protects iron fittings from oxidation. The lid has an integrated spherical brush that does not shed bristles.
Suitable for plumbing and mechanical engineering applications on galvanized or non-galvanized metal pipe fittings. Before application, clean the threads to remove rust, grease, and oil. Apply two coats, placing the hemp packing between them, then screw the fitting together while the product is still wet. Can be thinned with DUROSTICK THINNER 101 by up to 10%. Coverage depends on the pipe diameter.
