Felicia, a young Irish girl, wanders through England in search of her beloved. Along the way, she meets Mr. Hilditch, a kind Englishman who offers to help her. However, in reality, Hilditch is a killer of lonely women who tries to lure Felicia into his trap.
Through the relationship of predator and prey, Trevor focuses his interest on his favorite subject: the unbridgeable gap between miserable reality and the suffocating beauty of our dreams. THE FRUITLESS QUEST is nothing but the journey of a girl from innocence to knowledge, from carefree-ness to maturity. And it is certainly not a pleasant journey.
