Summary
The implementation of the "School for All" primarily requires an understanding of disability. Only by studying its various manifestations can educators, psychologists, special educators, social workers, parents, and social partners effectively address the educational needs of students, with or without disabilities, and empower them psychosocially within the framework of inclusive education. This monograph moves in that direction, focusing on intellectual disability.
The presentation of modern research data and different scientific approaches will help every reader to understand what intellectual disability truly is and how individuals with intellectual disabilities can be educated. Specifically, this work is structured into two parts. The First Part attempts an interdisciplinary interpretation of the term "intellectual disability," as its complexity and historical trajectory intertwined with human existence make it necessary. The Second Part highlights themes related to the education of individuals with intellectual disabilities, as social coexistence with them is solely a matter of education.
