“The New European Economy: On the Threshold of the 21st Century” is based on two previous editions. However, the book has been largely rewritten.

Among other things, it includes an assessment of the impacts of the internal market program, an analysis of the Economic and Monetary Union, a critical examination of social and redistributive policies, as well as a study of foreign policy and the processes of further enlargement.

It is internationally used as a key textbook for the study of European integration.
