    It is my second espresso machine, after a DeLonghi from another era, but essentially it is the first in my attempt to make tasty espresso at home from beans and not pre-ground. So, I share my experiences and evaluation without a point of comparison in the field of machines of this kind. For example, I don't know if it is noisy or heats up quickly because this opinion requires a point of comparison.

    It was purchased in April and immediately it was evident that I would be able to achieve what I started for: tasty espresso, that is.

    As a device, I like it both in terms of appearance and construction. Its accessories are sufficient, although I bought additional ones. The usability is satisfactory and I operated it easily. I didn't have any problems with the device itself. I chose the Classic Pro instead of the Evo for the well-known reasons mentioned on the Internet. Finally, it suited me in terms of size as the available space in my home is not large, and even yesterday evening I rearranged it for more convenient use.

    Apart from that,

    The biggest problem I have is the 15-bar pressure in combination with the grinder I chose initially (Krups GVX2). I can't make anything better at the moment. The best result has been achieved with lower pressure (activating the steam nozzle simultaneously with coffee extraction) and an open portafilter. But it's circumstantial. I can't have consistent coffee quality. I'm sure the situation would improve with a better grinder, with all that entails...

    In one photo, another awkward point is also evident, which has to do with the available height when using the provided portafilter. One approach is to not use the plastic container at all, but a small container instead, and another is to replace the container with a shorter one available from third-party manufacturers.

    Here, I will note that the abundance of various videos on YouTube about anything one wants to learn is a great advantage for this machine. It is truly a classic machine, and by studying these videos, I ultimately decided to choose it.

    Also, for the same reason, there is a plethora of compatible accessories. From portafilters to pressure reduction springs and a complete PID set. Some of these are for the future! I purchased some accessories so that I can experiment and gradually start to feel the whole story, aiming to reach the destination I envisioned when I decided to take the step. Open portafilter, IMS basket, scale/timer, tamper, and stirrer.

    What is certain for me is that the journey is worth it. And the Gaggia Classic Pro seems to be a good choice with room for companionship for many years, especially in the price category it is offered.

    Powerful machine with a 58mm group and a 2-liter water tank. The basic extras that I have purchased and that make the job perfect are a precision scale, a dosing funnel to measure your ml, and a timer to keep track of time. For the more meticulous ones, a milk frother, a thermometer, a knock box, a tamper with a sieve, a cleaning brush, a place for the tamper, and to tamp on your group (I have also added the bestmax soft S 1000-liter filter). Essential for cleaning is the urnex cafiza 2 maintenance cleaner. The grinder I bought, the Krups Santa Fe GVX242, is very satisfying with its grinding. With good tamping and the right coffee, you can drink a coffee that is almost better than the one you drink outside!

For the more meticulous ones, a milk frother, a thermometer, a knock box, a tamper with a sieve, a cleaning brush, a place for the tamper, and to tamp on your group (I have also added the bestmax soft S 1000-liter filter). Essential for cleaning is the urnex cafiza 2 maintenance cleaner. The grinder I bought, the Krups Santa Fe GVX242, is very satisfying with its grinding. With good tamping and the right coffee, you can drink a coffee that is almost better than the one you drink outside!
