This original edition was published in two volumes, in collaboration with the Benaki Museum. The renowned folklorist Angeliki Hatzimiha conducted her life’s work in an effort to collect, preserve, and revive as many creations of our folk art as possible.
For this reason, she left complete descriptions and drawings for traditional costumes, exhaustive details on their construction, the types of fabrics used, the threads, the dye, and the embroidery technique that adorned them.
The second volume includes the costumes from: Old Athens, Megara, Almyros, Karagkouniki costume, older costume from Ioannina, older costume from Veria, costume from Episkopi and Vergina, Roumloukiou, Kapoutsidou, Baltzas & Drymou, Asvestochori, Chalkidiki, Soufli, Kalymnos, Kastelorizo, and Cyprus.
