Description

The book: The lake is wonderful. Villages with colorful houses and hills adorned with purple lavenders surround it. Mr. Vincent decides to paint the landscape. "On the other side, it is more beautiful! Both cypress trees can be seen. You should paint it from there," suggests Nikola, and the painter sets up his easel. However, when the artwork is finished, the boy is surprised. Something is missing from the landscape in Mr. Vincent's painting. Something very important. Nikola and the painter seem to understand beauty differently. Or does beauty have many faces, and they just didn't realize it?

The series: To ensure that children have a healthy social life based on effective relationships, they must cultivate empathy, the ability to put themselves in others' shoes, to understand and feel things the same way another person does. This need is addressed by the illustrated books in this series, which promote emotional intelligence. With the proposed approach for parents and educators, they aim to introduce children to seeing the world through others' eyes, after first learning to recognize and manage their own emotions.

The author: Yolanda Tsoroni-Georgiadi is a graduate of the Law School, the Pedagogical Academy, and the Pedagogical Department of the University of Athens, and has furthered her education at the Marasleios Teaching Institute. She worked for many years in public education, writes articles for pedagogical magazines, participates voluntarily in organizations promoting literature, is an active member of the Women’s Literary Society, and has published many books for children and studies with folkloric content. She has been included in the Registry of Trainers for the program "Innovative Actions to Enhance Students' Reading Habits" and has undertaken training work in seminars for the professional development of primary education teachers.
