The idea of compiling the bibliography of Alexandros Kotzias occupied the Writers' Association after his sudden death. Kotzias's strong activity within the Association and his always prudent presence demanded the proper honors for him, but in a modest and dignified manner, characteristics that defined him as well.
The then Council of the Writers' Association approached the Ministry of Culture, which responded positively for financial support of the "Bibliography" promptly. Initially, the assignment for compiling the "Bibliography" was given to Dimitris Daskalopoulos, who, due to professional commitments, requested the collaboration of philologist Maria Rota.
The book we present today is largely based on the author's personal archive, carefully organized by him, but without the required completeness. The incomplete information needed verification and cross-referencing, a time-consuming and difficult task, considering the generally poor condition of our public libraries. The few cases of prints and publications that we couldn't consult, we hope will not alter the overall picture of the collected material.
No similar work is exhaustive and complete; however, we believe that in the following pages, the multifaceted intellectual presence of Alexandros Kotzias during the post-war period is clearly outlined, a presence that indicates productivity, alertness, and endless hours of personal creation, as well as professional engagement, mainly with the newspapers he collaborated with on literary topics.
