Realtek 8118 Gaming LAN

High-speed Gigabit LAN with automatic bandwidth allocation

The Realtek 8118 LAN is a high-performance network implementation for gamers with automatic bandwidth allocation to ensure priority in gaming or applications. It can provide users with the most comprehensive capabilities and the fastest and smoothest internet experience.

Hybrid Fan Pin Headers

Smart Fan 5 receives updated information about flow rate through the Hybrid Fan Pin, giving you complete control over the status of your computer. All Hybrid Fan Headers can automatically detect the type of cooling device, whether it is a fan or a pump with different PWM or Voltage operation.

Smart fan 5 software

Select different modes, silent or full speed, to match the usage of your system.

For each fan or pump, you can use the fan curve to set the activation threshold of the cooling systems.

Interoperable sensors and fans

Each fan can be customized to operate at different speeds according to any defined temperature input source (except for the CPU fan)

Fan curve

Adjust the fan curves based on specific temperatures with the graphical environment provided to you.

FAN STOP

Smart fan control design

Achieve absolute silence. With FAN STOP, every fan will completely stop when temperatures drop below a certain threshold. You can choose which fan stops from which sensor and at what temperature.

Very good and nice design, I got it for 80€, good price for what it offers, but it could have been 70€ to 75€, okay for a difference of 5 to 10€, it doesn't matter because it's worth it, it's a very beautiful and reliable motherboard, I have it with an i5 10400f and 16GB RAM and a GTX 960 2GB

  • Wanting to build a low-cost PC, I turned to this specific motherboard. It has a small size and fits in any case. With low temperatures and very good material quality, I have combined it with the 10th generation i3 and the system works perfectly. The only negative is that it does not support high-speed RAM (up to 2933 MHz).

    Purchase price 60€.
I set up a simple office PC with an i3 10100 and it runs flawlessly with memory that I timed directly to 2666 by enabling the XMP profile from the BIOS. It offers the basics and has very good build quality for its price category. I wouldn't hesitate to use it for a gaming PC with a mid-range graphics card like the RX570/580/GTX1650S/1660S, and if you're concerned about it not supporting faster memory, it's not an issue because very fast memory is not necessary for an Intel mid-range system (I have a link below).

    Pros:
    - User-friendly BIOS
    - Sufficient USB ports
    - Good build quality
    - M.2 support (but be careful because it only supports regular M.2 SSDs, not NVME SSDs)
    - VGA/HDMI/DVI port

    Cons:
    - Only 2 RAM slots (upgrade issue)
    - Lack of display port
    - Only 2 fan headers (1 CPU fan + 1 system fan)
    - Does not support NVME M.2 (they might be recognized, but they will operate at much lower speeds)

The completed build is as follows:
    CASE: Corsair 100R
    PSU: CX450watt
    MOBO: GIGABYTE H410M S2H
    CPU: Intel Core i3-10100 Box
    *RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4-2666MHz (CMK8GX4M2A2666C16) 2 modules
    SSD: SAMSUNG 860 EVO 500GB

It cost a total of 370 euros.

*I was pleasantly surprised by the Corsair memory I mentioned because it worked perfectly after timing it to 2666 directly from the BIOS and it had better performance than any other memory used with this motherboard (90% on userbenchmark). So if I were to build a gaming PC, I would use the exact same memory but with a larger capacity, the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-2666MHz (CMK16GX4M2A2666C16).

The core i3 10100 is very capable for 1080p gaming and will have practically zero bottleneck when paired with a mid-range graphics card like the GTX1660super. On the other hand, the i5 10400F with 6 cores/12 threads will be able to run at resolutions of 1440p+ alongside an RTX2080ti without any bottleneck, even with the memory timed to 2666. If you want to see how an i5 10400F performs with a 2080ti and 2666 memory, check out this link! https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i5-10400f/15.html

Good motherboard for its price, for a budget PC. It has everything that a medium and slightly demanding user needs.
    In the positives:
    - USB 3.2 (although it is Gen1), which means up to 4.8Gb/s, while USB 2.0 only gives up to 0.5Gb/s.
    - It supports both SATA and PCIe M.2 drives.
    - It has all the necessary outputs for monitors (HDMI-1.4, VGA, DVI-D).
    - RGB LED strip header for those interested.
The only negative aspect I would mention is the BIOS, as I find it not very user-friendly compared to others I have worked with.

It also recognized "G.Skill Aegis 16GB DDR4-3000MHz (F4-3000C16D-16GISB)" memory right away at 2133MHz, but if you enable the XMP Profile, they go up to 3000MHz.
Overall, the motherboard is great in the 2 months that I have had it. Additionally, the package includes 2 SATA cables, but it does not include screws!

  • Good motherboard for its price, for a budget PC.
