Description

You cannot step into the same river twice... Because the river will never be the same, nor will you. That’s why every moment is unique, incomparable! It has never been before and will never be again. It’s beautiful!

The moment is not a repetition. It is always freshly minted. You lose this freshness of the moment when your mind insists on clinging, on possessing, when you seek permanence. If you have a permanent, unchanging self, it would not even be like a stone, because even stones change.

However, the self cannot be like a flower. If all things had an unchanging self, an unchanging substrate, then all existence would be boredom, not celebration. Because it only exists when every moment brings something new.
