The best network upgrade that someone can do in a small business or home. Infinite scalability, easy management even off-site. I have installed it at home along with 1 Switch Lite 8 POE+, 2 Switch lite mini, and 1 AP WiFi 6 Lite on the upper floor. Now I have saved myself the trouble of disconnecting as I change floors (fast roaming), with a strong signal everywhere and high performance. Permanently connected to over 35+ IoT devices, 3x IP Cameras 2k, Home assistant, Pi-hole, 3 Vlans, 4 WiFi SSIDs (1 Guest portal), Site-to-site VPN (with UDM Pro Static IP on the other side), PPPOE dial-up on both sides, dynamic IP at home), VPN to client (for my mobile or laptop when I'm away). I no longer open ports, 1Gbit NAS with SMB & Plex for streaming 4K movies on mobiles & TVs within the house. Speed from client to client with iperf over 900mbits. It also has DPI and Firewall. Basically, with this, I learned how to play ball in networks, something I had been longing for many years, where I was struggling with TP-link router AP repeaters and other nonsense. I could have also dealt with Mikrotik instead of Ubiquiti, maybe I will play with it in the future, for now, I have set up 3 Raspberry Pi 4 in the network with various tools on them and my head is spinning. I recommend it even for non-experts who speak English. The basic setup is suitable for elementary school children and there is a lot of information on YouTube.

Regardless of whether Scroutz calls it an access point, the UDM is one of the best routers, firewalls, network controllers, and access points combined. It has the Ubiquity Cloud Controller integrated, so you have the Unify Interface and the ability to control all Ubiquity devices from one place. It can achieve 850mbps in both directions with IPS and DPI enabled, but I cannot test this due to my 100/10mbps connection. If you are looking for something to start your own Unify network or replace the terrible devices provided by ISPs, then the UDM is the best choice.

    Update 6/2024:
It has been working continuously since then with 0 issues. The updates to the Unifi OS and network have made it even better than before, although this summer it shows a temperature of 85-87C on the CPU, which seems excessive to me. The wifi has also improved with the updates, the zero configuration VPN works as it should, and the IPS/IDS detects and blocks what I have told it to. The only issue I have found is that the traffic routes (or simple traffic rules as they are called in version 8.2) do not work, so I always have to create classic firewall rules (from the advanced section). I now have it directly connected to the Cosmote Nokia ONT with PPPoE credentials and VLAN 835 on the WAN, instead of through the speedport in bridge mode. I have placed the speedport in the UDM for the phone, which works fine without port forwarding (only the SIP needs to be closed in the Conntrack Modules). On the speedport, I had to set a manual IPv4 (it didn't receive one from DHCP) and change the VLAN to 0 since I connected it to an untagged port on the switch.

P.S. It is no longer worth buying it new since the cheaper and better Ubiquiti Dream Router with wifi 6, PoE, Unifi protect, etc. has been released. But be careful because it has a smaller processor (2 instead of 4 cores and slower), so the maximum capacity is 700mbps with IPS/IDS.
