    The ultimate tool.
Just the fact that you don't use gasoline and you do your job quietly is enough.

    Verified purchase

I have 4 Echo petrol chainsaws, some for pruning and others for cutting trunks and firewood, so I know the company and it has never disappointed me, as I use them intensively every year, having 1000+ olive trees that pass through my hands.

This year I decided to treat myself before the start of the olive harvest with this particular electric model, with the 25cm carving bar that comes with it, for pruning and cutting branches into smaller pieces so they can fit on the olive collection bench.

By far one of the best purchases I have made. It takes a bit to get used to the difference of the electric motor since I had been using petrol for years, but the convenience of starting it with a button and leaving it without having to constantly pull a cord, especially if you are up in a tree or on a ladder, is extremely helpful.
Also, this particular one has 56V batteries that deliver 1.52hp of power, so the tool really cuts through anything.

Due to the carving bar (it has a small pitch and thinner guides), it makes perfect cuts on branches and arms, but for cutting trunks you should choose a 3/8" and not the 1/4" that is the carving, as it gets stuck easily when pressed by the weight of the trunk and jams. For this reason, I use a petrol chainsaw with a round 3/8" bar for large wood, and the electric one with the 1/4" for everything else.

Only ECHO could build such a chainsaw. I have been using ECHO chainsaws for 37 years, the CS 280 and then the ECHO CS 2600 for harvesting and pruning 400 large Koroneiki olive trees, and I was absolutely satisfied with their performance and reliability. The electric ECHO DCS 2500 is something else. AMAZING!!! Cutting speed faster than the petrol-powered CS 2600. Great autonomy, the two batteries that come with it correspond to 4 to 6 tanks of petrol depending on the use of the petrol-powered CS 2600. Top ergonomics, weight 3.1 kg fully assembled, excellent cutting speed control (adjustable speed) without vibrations and most importantly without noise and exhaust fumes. You press the switch and it starts up without preheating and unsuccessful starting attempts. Top ECHO quality. Petrol-powered ones are retired, I keep them as souvenirs.
P.S. The two batteries together with the charger cost €380, which someone can benefit from if they buy another ECHO tool such as a brushcutter or pole saw. The chainsaw was purchased from a physical store in Messinia.
