This volume publishes the results of a folkloric reading of the work of Alexandros Papadiamantis, from the perspective of religious folklore.

In its original form, the text constituted the thesis of the second author, under the supervision of the first - however, their contribution to the shaping and writing of the text was such that it justifies the joint publication of the study.
