The Jean Bernier Gallery was founded in 1977 and has been actively working in the field of contemporary art in Greece ever since. For twenty-one years, it has been located at the steps of Marasli Street 51, in Kolonaki, in a space built around the late 1960s, which was owned and originally inhabited by Alexandros Iolas, housing the Jean Bernier gallery.
The book is divided into two sections. The first part, as you will read below, is a journey through time, a narrative of our experiences, explaining why and how we started the gallery and what our goals have been over all these years.
The second part aims to provide a complete historical record of the exhibitions and events we organized, believing that this material may eventually be used and appreciated by younger generations.
