Reliable Outdoor Motion Detection

The MotionProtect Outdoor sensor is the first line of defense for homes and businesses, offering advanced protection in outdoor areas where environmental stimuli create high levels of "noise." By using two PIR sensors and the LISA analysis algorithm, the device effectively differentiates human movement from natural factors such as animals, insects, or foliage moving in the wind.

LISA Detection Technology

The LISA technology operates in two stages: correlation and spectral analysis. In the correlation phase, the system compares the signals from the two sensors in real time; when the signals share a common profile, an alarm is triggered. This significantly reduces false positives, ensuring reliable detection even in dynamic environments with continuous movement of natural elements.

Antimasking System

The device integrates a complete, intelligent antimasking system that remains active 24/7, even when the system is disarmed. During installation, the unit performs automatic calibration and then continuously monitors for the presence of obstacles or attempts to cover the lenses. If an obstacle or coating is detected on the sensors, the warning is triggered within 2 seconds (and up to 2.5 minutes depending on the type of coverage), while the tamper is activated immediately in case of disassembly attempts.

Jeweller Communication Protocol

Communication with the central panel is carried out via the Jeweller protocol, which offers encryption, authentication, interference detection, and smart power adjustment for maximum autonomy. The communication range reaches up to 1,700 m in open space. At the same time, the MotionProtect Outdoor is designed to operate in extreme weather conditions, with resistance from −25°C to +60°C, an IP55 waterproof rating, and a battery life of up to 5 years, with the possibility of external power supply.

From the fifth year, false antimasking alarms started in cold and humid conditions, and false motion detection alarms in the summer, to the point where I'm considering disabling it permanently. I also spoke with Ajax, they gave no solution other than making me try whatever tests they could think of, just to determine that it is probably a hardware issue and, since it is out of warranty, to buy another one.
