Description

Description

This book, whose author is unknown, was originally written in the Russian language around the year 1853.

The original work was found on Mount Athos in 1884, at which time it was printed in the city of Kazan, located in the Ural Mountains. From this edition, only three or four copies remain in Europe, outside of Russia.

This masterpiece, as it has been described in Europe by theologians who have spiritually delved into it, speaks of an Orthodox Christian pilgrim who travels with the thirst to deepen his knowledge and application of the Apostle Paul's saying, "pray without ceasing."

A father from Mount Athos suggested that we read this book, so I ordered it. It talks to us about the power of prayer!!! Easy to read, understandable, a book that you want to read until the end!!!

I had been hearing about this book for many years. I finally managed to read it this year. It is a textbook so well-written (even in translation), descriptive, structured, and with such depth of quality that you rarely encounter in theological books unless the author was a "saint."
No one knows if it is a true story or a fictional story written for an in-depth analysis of the "mental prayer" of Christ. It could be a "thesis" on mental prayer and its power. A unique screenplay for a movie that would win the Oscar for best screenplay.
As you can understand, it is now one of my favorite (theological) books.
