This volume includes seven studies on the work of Odysseas Elytis, written during significant periods of his intellectual journey, when it was necessary to chart the proven impact of his contributions.

The aforementioned studies attempted to address some of the themes raised by his daring poetic writing, which responded to the demands of a contemporary reality, untouched by ephemeral and perishable phenomena.

In this collection, they strive to demonstrate not only their endurance over time - which is a sought-after aspect with many prospects - but also the significance they may hold in the portrayal: a part of the historical development of a successively evolving deciphering of a truly indecipherable work.

However, some of the attempts, depending on the space in which they were hosted - a space that expresses acceptance of a specific field of reference - may weigh the (limited) response they elicited within the always restricted scope in which similar research operates, even if they are hosted in widely circulated publications.
