Cardiovascular diseases, despite the effective interventions that have been implemented in recent years, both pharmacological and interventional, remain the leading cause of premature death and disability.

This book collects and systematizes the speeches of leading experts in their field - primarily doctors from the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center - presented at the Municipal Theatre of Corinth during events themed: "Modern Prevention and Management of Cardiovascular Diseases".

The following chapters have generally been written in a simple and understandable manner, so as to appeal to all those interested in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and the developments in modern cardiology.

However, the use of simple and comprehensible language does not detract from their scientific value, making them suitable for reading by general practitioners, internists, cardiology residents, and other specialties, medical students, and health science professionals.
