The manual process is time-consuming and boring for me, so buying an electric device was the only way. However, I wasn't reading good reviews and I hesitated. I finally got this one. So far so good, it's permanently on the kitchen counter, a couple of passes now and then and the knives are razor sharp. It seems expensive but in the long run it will pay off because you won't be constantly buying new ones. I hope it also proves to be reliable.

Super easy to use. I have a set of samura knives and it was the obvious choice. You just place it in front, it has 2 slots for sharpening on each side, and 2 slots for polishing and a surface for polishing anything that might be left over. Fully satisfied.
