The Hoya NDX4 is a neutral density filter that reduces the light reaching the camera by 2 stops, with an optical density of ND 0.6. It does not affect colour balance and can be used in bright conditions, such as snowy landscapes or at the beach.
It allows you to use slow shutter speeds to capture motion, as well as wide apertures to reduce depth of field. It can also be used to lower the ISO sensitivity when shooting high-speed film and to record bright scenes with cameras that have a fixed shutter speed.
