Description

Net speed. Pure mirrorless.

The innovative EOS R6 features technology that will make you love photography all over again. See and shoot subjects in completely new ways and add a new dimension to your visual storytelling.

Presentation of the Canon EOS R6

Meet the Canon EOS R6 and see how its revolutionary speed, stability and technology can take your creativity to another level. Capture fleeting moments with incredible image quality and realise your cinematic ambitions.

See every move. Completely silently.

The EOS R6 gives you more opportunities to capture the perfect moment in time. Shoot action shots at an astonishing 20 frames per second1 silently and capture fleeting moments that are barely perceptible to the human eye.

Excellent video up to 4K 60fps and Full HD 120fps, with Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology

The EOS R6's video capture specifications can support serious film production streams. Canon Log and HDR PQ options help filmmakers capture greater dynamic range, while high-quality 10bit 4:2:2 recording is supported internally on either of the camera's two UHS-II SD memory card slots.

The ultimate hybrid engine

Whatever you record, and however you record it, the EOS R6 raises the bar for your creativity. Whether it's still images or video, people or locations, action or travel, still life or wildlife, the EOS R6's combination of speed, image quality and versatility make it the ultimate content creation tool.

The world's best image stabilisation: 8 stops

Imagine what it's like to be able to take hand-held shots at shutter speeds of up to four seconds, capturing water in landscapes and people in the streets without the need for a tripod. This is the creative freedom you can expect from the EOS R6.

The five-axis image stabilizer built into the camera body provides up to 8 stops of protection against camera instability. And when RF lenses with an IS optical system (except for the RF 600MM F11 IS STM and RF 800MM F11 IS STM) are mounted on the camera, the two systems work together to provide the amazing 8-stop advantage. 2

The IS system built into the camera body and the corresponding system on the lens also stabilize video shots, while a third system - Movie Digital IS - adds an extra layer of stabilization for professional-level results.

The world's fastest AF system tracks subjects with confidence

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system of the EOS R6 is controlled by a DIGIC X processor that uses artificial intelligence with deep learning techniques for advanced subject recognition and tracking capabilities. The eyes, face and head of each subject can be identified with new levels of accuracy. The camera can also recognize cats, dogs and birds, which offers consistently flawless focus on fast-moving subjects - one of the more challenging aspects of wildlife photography and indoor home shots.

Fast response and easy to use, from the moment you pick it up

We don't want there to be any barriers between you and your creativity. That's why we've designed the EOS R6 to be handled instinctively, and built in a wealth of connectivity features.

Electronic viewfinder

The state-of-the-art 3.69 million dot electronic viewfinder that refreshes at up to 120fps is complemented by a fully articulated variable-angle touchscreen that slides away from the body of the camera and rotates 270˚ for shooting from creative angles.

2 card slots

The two card slots allow RAW files to be recorded separately from JPEG/HEIF files, or even still images separately from video, and support the latest UHS-II standards for high read/write speeds. Thanks to easy-to-use mechanisms on the back of the camera - such as the joystick AF and rear controls - you can use the EOS R6 in an instinctive way.

I have used it twice at weddings as my main camera, at all stages, from preparations to the last songs at the party. Various lighting conditions, high demands from the auto focus, and everything else included.
It did not disappoint me at all. Very easy to handle, I got used to it and made it my own within a day. On the job, it was fast and accurate. It is my dream camera.

This review is about the bundle: Kit (RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM)

Purchased in August 2024 while the r6markii had already been released! I found the markii for €2800-3000 and I never believed it was worth that much compared to the previous model which was purchased new for €1600 with the differences being small to negligible! The r6 is a beast, amazing autofocus, incredible in low light conditions, and the 20mp is just right, don't get crazy about the mp! Okay, in video I noticed a slight overheating after 25 minutes in 4k! which is not tragic but might annoy many! In my opinion, YES, it is definitely worth it and even more so, even in 2025 we're talking about a little monster that is now available for around €1,000-1,500

It was purchased at the end of 2023 for €1600 to replace the non-ergonomic but reliable EOS R.
I won't mention the "colors" of Canon or the "low light capabilities" as these are well-known.
The ergonomics of Canon are also well-known, worthy descendant of the legendary 6D.
The 20 MP are just right, no need to worry. It is a complete camera that will not say no to most types of photography, especially in moving subjects.
The only "negative" is the build quality, which although Made in Japan, is noticeably inferior to the R5 and even the EOS R. However, this will not hinder the user experience. It is not cheaply made, but the original 6D had a more solid feel.
For this price, I consider it a good value for money compared to any other full frame Canon at the end of 2023.
I would also recommend the R8, but not to everyone.

It's worth the money (€2200). The camera is specialized for video and low light photography. The Auto-Focus is amazing and works perfectly with the RF Lens. But the EF to RF Mount also works perfectly, even with the Sigma lens. If you want it for video, go for it, but there are better alternatives for photography. If money is not an issue, I recommend the R5 or R5C.

This review is about the bundle: Kit (RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM)

With the use of a good lens, the camera is excellent for low-light conditions. It is also incredible how stable the image is at low speeds without the use of a tripod.
The adapter for using DSLR lenses works perfectly.
However, the kit lens is very poor and not worth its money in any case. Get a fixed lens and the camera will soar.

A camera that has everything except for the smallest sensor at half the price of the R5. No comparison to Canon's first mirrorless series (M) and comparable or even better in autofocus and tracking of animals - humans in the eye compared to Sony, which used to dominate! Unfortunately or fortunately, the end of DSLRs will come sooner or later, as today's mirrorless cameras have surpassed in features that DSLRs will never purely acquire due to technology.
