...and other linguistic irregularities
Until a few decades ago, people in this country adapted to the demands of grammar. That is, they tried to learn and manage the rules of spelling and syntax.
Today, Greek speakers adapt the language to their needs. The number of "users" who attempt to conform to the rules of the Greek language is dangerously declining. At the same time, there is a rapid increase in those who "create" their own makeshift grammar.
The expected consequence is an extremely poor vocabulary of three to five thousand words. This vocabulary is sufficient for basic communication and only for that!
Thus, to fill the gaps, those who approximately speak Greek adopt foreign words or resort to verbal "inventions". Occasionally, they enrich their speech with "gems" that they copy from television...
The result is at least depressing. Inevitably, the Greek language is devalued, and people gradually become semi-illiterate...
This is the reason for the book "User Guide to the Greek Language".
