Scudotex 441 Long thigh-high stockings provide graduated compression, with a pressure of 23–32 mmHg, and feature open toes and a silicone band. Compression is strongest at the ankle and gradually decreases along the calf and thigh.
They are intended for vascular conditions involving symptoms of venous insufficiency, such as varicose veins, phlebitis, swelling and venous ulcers. They are also used in cases of thrombophlebitis, after varicose vein surgery, following sclerotherapy, and for injuries and fractures of the lower limbs. The mesh knit allows the skin to breathe, while the reinforced heel and flat seams are features of their construction.
They are best put on in the morning, when the feet and ankles are rested and less swollen. To put them on, turn the stocking inside out down to the heel, pass the foot through the opening at the ankle, then gently roll the stocking up the leg. Once in place, it should be pulled taut without wrinkles.
