The state. We curse it, we scorn it, sometimes we hate it, we always ask something from it, deep down we fear it, and not rarely we flatter it. Does this attitude remind you of anything? But, no matter what we say, whether we like it or not, we will be citizens of some state, because that's how the world is organized. There are "better" and "worse" states than ours. Although we want to see it as something "outside of us," the state is "us," with our good and our pathologies. The question is whether we want to make it "better." We all agree on that, provided the path to "better" does not infringe on our petty interests.

It is mainly aimed at the implementers of the law who are decision-makers, and it seeks to help them achieve better results. The first part is aimed at all those who ponder about the state in general and the Greek state in particular. Although the topic is enormous, it seeks to answer basic questions about why this entity exists, what state our own is in today, and what possibilities exist to improve its functioning. The book includes a wealth of diagrams and tables and uses a "friendly" language for better understanding of its content.
