Nintendo characters come to life with amiibo figures. They are interactive figures that communicate with specially designed games via the Wii U GamePad console. The amiibo interacts with amiibo-compatible games, allowing the reading and storage of data.

In Super Smash Bros Wii U, players can fight with or against the amiibo figures while leveling them up. Notably, players can transfer the figures to another Wii U console to showcase their training and customization.

Different amiibo-compatible games will use the figures in various ways. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be the first game to use amiibo, and support is also expected from games such as:
